The AgentWP Public Beta Is Released

I’m thrilled to announce the public beta release of AgentWP, our cutting-edge AI agent designed specifically for WordPress. This marks a significant milestone in our journey to revolutionize how users interact with their WordPress sites, making tasks simpler, automating processes, and enhancing overall site management through intelligent assistance.

Our Journey Here

Two years ago, we launched CodeWP, an AI IDE tailored for WordPress. CodeWP was designed to assist developers in generating code - it still generates thousands of snippets per day, and will soon integrate with AgentWP.

During our time with CodeWP, we saw that users were seeking functionalities that extended beyond code generation—functionalities that required direct integration with WordPress sites. This insight sparked the creation of AgentWP.

Our vision was simple yet ambitious: build the systems to allow AI to access the same tools and methods developers have always used (code, databases, filesystems, etc...), enabling our Agent to perform tasks, provide accurate WordPress-specific assistance, and serve as a personalized assistant for each site.

About eight months ago, we pivoted our focus entirely to develop AgentWP. This involved intensive research and development, creating complex systems that underpin AgentWP’s capabilities. Despite the challenges, including extensive testing and iterative improvements over the past few months, we're proud to bring AgentWP to the community in its current form.

Our Goal - 100k sites

Our primary goal is to deploy AgentWP on 100,000 WordPress sites by March, 2025. This ambitious target hinges on our ability to implement and refine additional features in the coming weeks and months. These features are already in development and will undergo rigorous testing to ensure they are both robust and safe for release. In the meantime, we’re offering a powerful conversational assistant that provides immense value to users, leveraging some of the most advanced AI models available today.

Installation

Installing AgentWP is straightforward:

Navigate to the WordPress Plugin Repository: Search for AgentWP.

Install the Plugin: Click to install AgentWP directly on your WordPress site.

Sign In or Create an Account: If you have an AgentWP account, sign in. If not, create one effortlessly with a one-click Google sign-up.

Onboarding: An AI connection screen will appear. Click Connect.

Start Using AgentWP: Once connected, you can begin leveraging AgentWP’s capabilities immediately.

AgentWP is completely free to use. However, we also offer a Pro version for those who wish to support our efforts and gain access to premium features. Upgrading is simple—just click the upgrade button within the AgentWP interface.

Current Features

AgentWP’s current release focuses on conversational assistance, providing a range of functionalities tailored to enhance your WordPress experience:

• Conversational Assistance: Engage in meaningful conversations about your site. AgentWP understands your WordPress setup, including active plugins, and provides relevant responses to your queries.
• Vision Integration: By toggling the vision feature on, AgentWP can analyze the current state of your page, including visible code, design elements, and content, to deliver more informed and context-aware responses.
• Coding Support: AgentWP can generate code snippets and integrates with popular code plugins like Code Snippets, allowing you to create, deactivate, and iterate on code directly within your WordPress dashboard.
• Content Creation: Write and manage posts with ease. AgentWP can generate content based on your site’s existing structure and content, ensuring consistency and relevance.
• Site Understanding: Upon installation, AgentWP indexes your site, analyzing plugins, recent posts, and key pages to build a comprehensive understanding of your site’s purpose and structure. This foundational knowledge enhances every interaction you have with the agent.

These features are available for free and utilize premium AI models from Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic, ensuring top-tier performance without any cost to you.

Future Releases

We’re just getting started. Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming next:

1. Navigation: AgentWP will understand all pages rendered by your plugins and guide you to the relevant sections of your site based on your requests.
2. SQL Integration: Soon, AgentWP will support read-only and write modes for SQL queries, enabling advanced data manipulation and conversational statistics, particularly benefiting WooCommerce and other data-driven plugins.
3. AI Anywhere: Integrate AI into any text box on your WordPress site. Whether it’s SEO meta tags or content fields, AgentWP can assist without the need for multiple AI subscriptions.
4. Troubleshooting: Analyze debug logs, active plugins, and code snippets to resolve issues efficiently.
5. Scheduled Tasks: Automate routine tasks such as publishing blog posts, renaming layers in page builders, and more, freeing you to focus on strategic site improvements.

Our long-term vision is to create a proactive AI that seamlessly manages and optimizes your WordPress site, handling maintenance and troubleshooting autonomously so you can concentrate on growing your business and enhancing your content strategy.
